Say ' NO ' to YES

Yes

It is equally important to say NO .... !?!

When you start your business, you want to chase every opportunity that comes along. This strategy will work for a while until you suddenly become overcommitted and utterly exhausted.

Isn't it?

Entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint. It's more about working smart than working hard. That makes how you use your time incredibly important.

“Really successful people say no to almost everything.” - Warren Buffett

Before you say YES to that next project, find some time to read the article and then decide.

Saying NO is not the end of opportunities :

Early-stage entrepreneurs feel that if they don’t accept every opportunity that presents itself, it may not come around again. On the other side, you are accepting every opportunity, by saying Yes.

That means, you are accepting every type of customer, which may not be, cannot be, nor to -be your target. And as you are accepted these customers, you need to invest extra energy and man-hours to satisfy them. An still, there is no guarantee of client satisfaction, as these are not your 'target customers. So, focus on those who are your ' good fit ' target and not on every customer.

Focus on long term goals:

An entrepreneur needs to utilize the available resources and manage the time, for those activities, which will move your business forward. Business goals are more important than any personal interest or anyone personal goal. Focus on the final goal. Distractions are and will be there, at every step. Just stay focused. Be like Arjuna.

Ask yourself :

Saying NO is a tough task. These are the four questions one need to ask yourself :

  1. Do I have the time and resources to complete this project properly?

  2. Will, me and my team get satisfaction, after accepting the opportunity, with the terms associated with it? accepting this opportunity?

  3. Does the work fit within the long-term vision of my business?

  4. Do this client and the job they’re asking me to do fit within my business ethos?

If the answer to any of the above questions is NO or even partially NO, then don't be afraid to say NO to the project or opportunity.

By saying NO to unfit opportunities means actually you are saying YES to the long-term dream.

Stay Safe

Have a great weekend ahead
